How do I report a holiday while receiving Dutch WW benefit?
Report your holiday no later than one day before it starts through Mijn UWV or the UWV app, even if you stay in the Netherlands or at home. WW normally provides up to 20 holiday days per calendar year; the number is lower if WW starts later in the year.

1. Calculate your available holiday days
This guidance concerns Dutch WW. UWV allows up to 20 holiday days per calendar year, reduced proportionally if WW starts after 1 January. Unused days cannot be carried forward. If you reach AOW age within one year, UWV states 65 days; verify that exception in your file. If WW ends before 31 December, this does not reduce the allocated number of holiday days.
2. Report the holiday on time
Report the first and last holiday day no later than one day before it starts, using the change form in Mijn UWV or the UWV app. Also report a holiday in the Netherlands or at home. UWV says a single day trip need not be reported. Keep the confirmation and check the dates.
3. Know the rules during holiday days
During available holiday days, WW continues, you do not have to apply for jobs and UWV will not invite you to a meeting. Weekends and public holidays do not use a holiday day. This is not a general exemption outside the reported period.
4. Report a change or cancellation
Report immediately if the holiday becomes shorter, longer or moves. If it is cancelled, send a Werkmap message no later than one day before the original start. If you become ill during the holiday, report sick to UWV through the sickness route.
5. Check a longer holiday
If you stay away longer than your available days, UWV does not pay WW for the extra days and the job-search duty applies. The WW end date moves by those extra days. If the excess is at least one month, UWV stops WW; a later new claim is assessed again.
6. Record your plan and evidence
Use the tool below to make a calendar of available, used and planned days. Record weekends, public holidays and changes separately. The document stays local and does not notify UWV. Seek help if UWV counts differently, stops WW or announces a sanction.
Do I have to report a holiday spent at home?
Yes. UWV also asks you to report a holiday at home or in the Netherlands no later than one day before it starts. Only a single day out need not be reported. Keep the confirmation.
