Can I pay my CJIB fine in instalments?
What would you like help with?
Detailed explanation, checklist and sources
Often yes if you cannot pay at once. First identify the letter: for the standard plan the outstanding fine amount normally must be at least €75, excluding administration costs.

1. Check the letter and amount
This concerns a Dutch CJIB letter. Check the letter code, fine amount, increases and due date. The €75 threshold concerns the fine or combined fines, not administration costs; other measures may have different rules.
2. Choose payment or challenge
A plan only spreads payment and is not an objection or appeal. If you want to challenge a traffic fine, check the remedy and deadline first. CJIB says not to request a payment plan for that traffic fine before appealing.
3. Check earlier plans
If you had a CJIB plan in the previous six months, a new standard plan may be available only if you kept the earlier agreement. List that plan and all payments.
4. Apply through CJIB
Apply through the official CJIB route with the number on the letter. Keep confirmation. Do not improvise part-payments or assume that these create a plan.
5. Follow the written schedule
CJIB sends a decision with amounts and dates. Check it, pay on schedule and keep proof. Contact CJIB before missing an instalment because default may end the plan and collection can continue.
6. Ask for help if it does not fit
If the standard schedule is unaffordable, contact CJIB promptly about a personal solution. Prepare income, fixed costs and other CJIB debts. This page cannot decide eligibility.
What belongs in my payment overview?
For each letter list the number, fine type, fine amount, costs, increases, due date and whether you will pay or challenge. Add the amount you can genuinely pay monthly. Apply only through CJIB; this site sends nothing.

For each event, note the date, what happened and where the evidence is kept. Example: 3 October — letter received — correspondence folder.
Describe the solution you would like, such as an explanation of a deduction and repayment of the outstanding amount.
For example: which document is missing, who can provide it and what should I do first?
