My final calculation says I will receive money; when is it paid?
What would you like help with?
Detailed explanation, checklist and sources
An additional payment normally arrives within one week after the date on your final calculation. If it is offset against a debt, a separate notice follows within six weeks; childcare benefit may go directly to the childcare provider. The steps below help you check the data and choose the correct official next step.

1. Identify the benefits message
An additional payment normally arrives within one week after the date on your final calculation. If it is offset against a debt, a separate notice follows within six weeks; childcare benefit may go directly to the childcare provider. This guidance concerns Dutch benefits administered by Dienst Toeslagen. Relevant data differ by benefit and household; this page does not make an individual calculation.
2. Check year, date and data used
If you still owe benefits, Dienst Toeslagen may offset the additional payment against that debt. A separate notice follows within six weeks after the final calculation. This is not a general six-week payment period or advice to wait that long before asking. If your monthly childcare benefit already went directly to the childcare provider, this additional payment also goes there.
3. Compare the message with your records
Compare the data in My benefits with annual statements, rent or childcare records and household registration. Record exactly which item differs.
4. Choose the official next step
Check the date, your bank account and any set-off notices. If payment is missing after the normal week and the reason is unclear, contact Dienst Toeslagen. Use My benefits, the official form or the contact route for this message. This website sends nothing and changes no benefit.
5. Do not confuse a change with an objection
If you disagree with the amount in the final calculation, distinguish a payment enquiry from an objection to the calculation. An objection must be made within six weeks after the date of the decision. Use the official objection form, print it and send it by post, not email. A phone call alone does not preserve the objection deadline.
6. Keep proof and seek help if needed
Keep the message, supporting documents and receipt together. Seek timely help when several years, a large amount or unclear household data are involved.
What should I do first?
Check the date, your bank account and any set-off notices. If payment is missing after the normal week and the reason is unclear, contact Dienst Toeslagen.
