Sign in personally with DigiD through DUO to Mijn diploma’s and download the free PDF extract. It is official proof of your qualification. Not every course or graduation year is registered; an absent record does not automatically mean your diploma is invalid.

1. Choose the required evidence
Ask the school or employer which diploma and marks are required. A DUO extract proves your qualification but looks different from the original. It does not always include all marks: secondary education gets a full list, mbo a limited one, and other qualifications no marks list.
2. Check availability
Check the type of education, graduation year and publicly funded or private institution in DUO’s table. New diplomas take two to eight weeks to appear, depending on the course. Foreign diplomas, pre-master, post-hbo and PhD qualifications are among those not included, even if valid.
3. Download personally
Open Mijn diploma’s from the official DUO page and sign in yourself with DigiD. Download the selected extract. A school or employer cannot log in for you. Do not share a DigiD code or password. Store the PDF somewhere you control.
4. Share a verifiable file
The original PDF contains an authenticity feature. Share that file directly from Downloads or Files; a photo or printout does not preserve the digital check. Forwarding from Samsung Notes may remove the feature. The recipient can verify the file through DUO’s official diploma verification service.
5. Resolve missing information
If downloading fails, first check the downloads folder and try another browser or device. If necessary contact DUO Diplomadiensten with device, browser, error and time. For a lost, damaged or personally outdated diploma, use the diploma assistance tool to identify the appropriate replacement document. Our preparation sheet is not official evidence. After a name or gender change, the appropriate evidence may be an extract, declaration of examination taken (VAE), or replacement educational document (VOD). The diploma helper determines what can be downloaded or requested for your diploma/certificate; follow its instructions.
6. Check use abroad
For work or study abroad, legalisation may be necessary. Ask the receiving institution first. Downloading alone does not arrange this: DUO checks the original, complete, signed educational document, followed where required by a court or the Consular Service Centre. DUO does not provide translations. Follow the separate official process before sending documents.
Is a diploma invalid if it is absent from Mijn diploma’s?
No. The register does not cover every course and year. Check DUO’s table, allow for processing of a recent diploma and use the diploma assistance tool or contact DUO for the appropriate next step.
