How do I prepare a CAK care contribution calculation?

First identify Wmo, Wlz or sheltered accommodation. Use CAK’s official calculator for an estimate; its decision determines your contribution. Payment arrangements and requests for reduction are different routes.

Your next step on the official website

Prepare here, then go to the appropriate authority.

This official route starts with Dutch guidance.

How to proceed

  1. Record Wmo, Wlz or sheltered accommodation, the care arrangement and contribution year. Prepare tax figures, partner details and the decision; the ordinary 2026 Wlz calculation uses 2024 figures.
  2. Use the official CAK explanation to choose the calculation or adjustment route. Compare an estimate with your decision; instalments are a different route. Ask CAK about incorrect figures and keep track of the objection deadline in your decision. The linked guidance concerns Wlz 2026; for Wmo or protected housing, check the applicable scheme with CAK.

After signing in or opening a further form, you may encounter Dutch text. The official link opens in a new tab. Keep this guidance beside the form.

1. Identify the scheme

Record the scheme, care arrangement, starting date and contribution year. Most Wmo support costs at most €21.80 monthly in 2026; municipal low-income policy may matter. This is not a general Wlz limit or the health insurance deductible.

2. Check the care arrangement

Wlz calculations differ for institutional care, a full home package, a modular home package and a personal budget. Sheltered accommodation often follows the Wlz calculation. A Wmo sheltered-accommodation budget without a housing component has a €21.80 monthly maximum in 2026; with that component, income or assets matter.

3. Gather the correct figures

For the ordinary 2026 Wlz calculation CAK uses 2024 income and assets. Gather tax figures, partner and housing details and the care arrangement. Do not enter only current monthly take-home pay. Reduced income may justify a separate adjustment request, subject to conditions.

4. Use the official calculator

Use CAK’s contribution calculator and select the correct year and care arrangement. Save the date, inputs and result for comparison. An estimate is not a decision; we submit nothing. The calculator belongs to CAK.

5. Compare decision and invoice

The Wlz decision states the monthly contribution and underlying figures. An invoice states what to pay; do not pay the decision again as if it were an invoice. Check deductions from pension or benefits and ask about discrepancies.

6. Choose the next step

For incorrect figures, contact CAK and check the objection route and deadline in the decision. For reduced income, choose the correct scheme and year in Mijn CAK or the official adjustment form. For payment difficulties, ask about instalments. These routes are not interchangeable.

Must I pay the calculator result immediately?

No. The calculation is an estimate. The decision sets the contribution; the invoice or deduction determines payment. Compare the figures and do not pay an estimate in addition to the same invoiced contribution.
