Preserve evidence and contact the police. Coordinate removal so important evidence is not lost.

1. Safety first
Call 112 in immediate danger; otherwise contact the police on 0900-8844. Move to safety if someone comes looking for you. Do not repost your address or the intimidating publication to draw attention to the case.
2. Consider the purpose
Doxing involves collecting or sharing personal data to intimidate: causing fear, serious nuisance or serious interference with work. Publishing a photograph or address is not automatically criminal doxing; intent and context matter. Family or employer information can also be involved.
3. Preserve evidence
Keep original messages, links, usernames, dates and times, and screenshots showing context. Record the data shared, calls to action, previous incidents and effects. Gather only safely available evidence; do not hack accounts or threaten the sender.
4. Arrange an appointment
Arrange a police-station appointment to report the incident and/or make a formal criminal complaint. Bring your timeline and evidence and explain threats and risks to household members or work. You need not determine the legal offence yourself; discuss the appropriate route with the police.
5. Coordinate removal
Consult the police before removing online content: rapid deletion can hamper an investigation. Ask how to preserve evidence safely and pursue removal. Slachtofferhulp Nederland can advise and support you. A police report does not automatically remove content.
6. Follow up
Ask for a reference number and follow-up arrangements. Report new incidents and update your evidence; call 112 for a new emergency. Police may consider a warning conversation, investigation or referral, but none is guaranteed. Discuss additional protection for risks connected with a public-facing role.
Should I delete the posts immediately?
Coordinate this with the police first and preserve evidence. Immediate deletion may hinder investigation; safety comes first and immediate danger requires 112.

Your timeline and evidence
List events and contacts. Note where you keep the evidence; no upload is needed.
What goes in my timeline?
Record what happened, when, the response and where to find the letter, message or photo. Mark uncertain dates.
Is my evidence sent?
No. You only note where it is kept. No files are uploaded or sent automatically.
How do I save my timeline?
Your entries are not saved automatically. Choose Save and continue later to store this preparation, including your timeline, in My overview. Wait for confirmation and save new changes again. You can also download a Word file without an account.
Up to 20 events. Choose a different position for an event to change the order.

For each event, note the date, what happened and where the evidence is kept. Example: 3 October — letter received — correspondence folder.
Describe the solution you would like, such as an explanation of a deduction and repayment of the outstanding amount.
For example: which document is missing, who can provide it and what should I do first?
Record the date and its source. If unknown, note this and check promptly. This tool does not calculate or monitor deadlines.
After your conversation
These are your own notes. Confirm agreements with the other person; these notes do not prove their agreement.
This is your preparation, not a submitted request, objection or legally reviewed document. A tick records only your own progress. Check the procedure and deadline in the original letter.
