PAWW is a private supplement through a participating employer, not an automatic UWV benefit. Check participation, work history and the end date. Apply yourself to Stichting PAWW; WGA phases must be distinguished.

1. Identify the ending benefit
PAWW follows WW or earnings-related WGA. Read the UWV end notice: a wage supplement or follow-up benefit is not the earnings-related phase. Record which entitlement ends and when. An ending UWV payment does not automatically establish PAWW entitlement.
2. Check employer and work history
Check your former employer’s participation and gather a payslip showing PAWW deductions or other evidence. Ask SPAWW to assess work history and applicable conditions. Public sources phrase the ten-year threshold differently; exactly ten years does not trigger automatic approval here.
3. Gather UWV documents
Prepare the UWV award, end or transition decision, last or penultimate full monthly benefit statement and insurance/work-history record. Include sickness-benefit award and termination where relevant. Submit these through the official dossier, not public comments.
4. Apply to SPAWW on time
Start through the application button on spaww.nl, from four weeks before the end. SPAWW states no later than one week afterwards for a timely application. Keep confirmation and requests for missing documents. If late, contact SPAWW immediately rather than assuming all rights are lost.
5. Check amount and duration
SPAWW determines duration from work history, up to fourteen months. Use its official estimate, which is not an award. Compare the decision, deductions and end date. Fourteen months is not universal and net payment is not guaranteed to match the previous payment.
6. Keep reporting changes
Report monthly income and job applications through the official dossier as instructed, and report relevant changes. Before WW/WGA ends, also check possible IOW, IOAW or social-assistance rights with UWV or the municipality. PAWW does not apply for them automatically.
Does PAWW start automatically when WW ends?
No. Employer participation, work history and applicable conditions must be checked. Apply yourself to SPAWW and keep the receipt. A UWV end notice is not a PAWW award.
