In the event of a substantial speeding offence or dangerous driving behaviour, the CBR may impose a short or full behavioural course, in addition to the penalty or fine.

Why this measure?
LEMG is aimed, among other things, at certain first substantial speeding offences. EMG may follow in cases of more serious speeding, combined or deliberately dangerous driving behaviour and repetition.
Check the police report
Compare the decision with the official report, speed after correction, location, driver category and previous registrations. A measure must meet statutory criteria.
Objection and participation
An objection is generally possible within six weeks, but does not stop the decision from taking effect. Therefore, continue to monitor payment and participation deadlines.

Can I receive a fine in addition to an EMG?
Yes. The CBR measure and criminal-law or administrative handling may coexist.
How much does the course cost?
For 2026, the CBR states €1,029 for LEMG and €1,359 for EMG. Always check your decision and the current rates.
