Can I move with my child without permission?
What would you like help with?
Do not move in anticipation of permission. Creating a fait accompli may harm your position and lead to a request to move back.
Detailed explanation, checklist and sources
If you share parental authority, a move that affects the child's life and contact cannot be decided unilaterally. If consent is refused, substitute consent from the court may be required.

Make the necessity specific
Substantiate why the move is necessary, how it has been prepared and which alternatives have been considered. Work, housing, support network and financial consequences may be relevant, but must be explained with evidence.
Protect contact with the other parent
Make a workable proposal for care days, pick-up and drop-off, travel costs, holidays and digital contact. Also describe the child's school, childcare and social network.
Substitute consent
If the other parent with parental authority refuses, the court can weigh all interests. A lawyer is required for the application. The outcome depends strongly on distance, necessity, preparation and consequences for the child.

0 / 7 · Checked or collected
For each event, note the date, what happened and where the evidence is kept. Example: 3 October — letter received — correspondence folder.
Describe the solution you would like, such as an explanation of a deduction and repayment of the outstanding amount.
For example: which document is missing, who can provide it and what should I do first?
Record the date and its source. If unknown, note this and check promptly. This tool does not calculate or monitor deadlines.
After your conversation
These are your own notes. Confirm agreements with the other person; these notes do not prove their agreement.
This is your preparation, not a submitted request, objection or legally reviewed document. A tick records only your own progress. Check the procedure and deadline in the original letter.
