Is my protected income amount correct after wage attachment?
What would you like help with?
Respond immediately if, due to the attachment, you cannot pay your necessary housing, healthcare or living costs.
Detailed explanation, checklist and sources
When Dutch wages or benefits are attached, the beslagvrije voet protects part of your income. Check the statement and promptly report errors to the attaching party. Correct data, the right recipient and the date matter; an online calculation does not automatically change the attachment.

Identify who calculated it
Keep the letter and protected-income statement. Record its date, case number, attaching party and deduction. Someone else may attach a UWV benefit: the benefit payer is not necessarily responsible for correcting the calculation. Contact the party shown on your statement.
Use the official calculator
Compare income, household, address and amounts with your documents. The official calculator is linked at uwbeslagvrijevoet.nl/controleren. Have the statement, your and any partner’s payslips, rent or mortgage details and allowances ready. Save the result privately. A difference warrants discussion; it is not a binding new assessment.
Watch the four-week period
Report wrong data within four weeks of the date on the statement. Recalculation can then apply from that date. If reported later, official guidance says the revised calculation starts when you reported it. Report errors even after four weeks. This is not a general objection period for the debt or every attachment.
Choose the correct correction route
Ask which evidence and secure submission route are needed. If UWV calculated it, use Aanpassen gegevens voor berekening beslagvrije voet in Mijn UWV. For a Tax Administration wage claim, government collection or offset, use its official recalculation form. For a bailiff, follow their route. The draft below does not replace these forms.
Report special circumstances
Promptly report income, household or address changes. No fixed Dutch address, living abroad or in an institution may affect the calculation. Report other attachments and offsets so they can be coordinated. Ask which evidence is needed; do not share full private records in public chats or comments.
Check the response and seek help
Ask for receipt, a new statement and an explanation of the effective date and deductions. The amount can rise or fall; an increase is not guaranteed. Ask when to expect a reply. If essential costs cannot be paid, contact the attaching party and municipal debt support or legal adviser promptly. A request does not automatically stop attachment or other deadlines.

For each event, note the date, what happened and where the evidence is kept. Example: 3 October — letter received — correspondence folder.
Describe the solution you would like, such as an explanation of a deduction and repayment of the outstanding amount.
For example: which document is missing, who can provide it and what should I do first?
Record the date and its source. If unknown, note this and check promptly. This tool does not calculate or monitor deadlines.

Frequently asked questions
Is it too late after four weeks?
No. Still report errors and changes. The four weeks affect when recalculation starts; they are not a universal objection or expiry period for all rights. Have a separate challenge to the debt or attachment assessed separately.
